Unit Manager at PTS
As a unit manager at PTS, you will play a central role in coordinating the emergency preparedness sector for electronic communication and contributing to Sweden's total defense. Here, you will lead a qualified team and drive the work forward in an operation that is crucial for our society to function – even when it is subjected to stress.
We work with what everyone takes for granted: the ability to communicate. With us, you will ensure that it works now and in the future. For everyone.
The unit works with collaboration, crisis preparedness, and the development of the sector's common capabilities. The work is carried out in close dialogue with other authorities, actors, and international partners. The role entails significant responsibility – and great opportunities to genuinely impact societal benefits.
“My name is Anders Wallinder, and I am the department head. I enjoy working closely with my managers and creating conditions for you as a leader to feel secure, clear, and have good opportunities to take responsibility. For me, it is crucial that we build a culture where we trust each other, have high ceilings, and where dialogue is natural in everyday life. That’s how we create long-term capability – together.”
About the Role
As a unit manager, you are responsible for the unit's operations, personnel, and finances. You ensure a safe and developing work environment and work to enable your employees to perform their tasks in the best possible way. The role includes clarifying goals, planning, developing, and following up on operations, as well as contributing to the department's development in the management group.
You represent PTS internally and externally, nationally and internationally, and have a clear responsibility for developing collaboration within the emergency preparedness sector, driving the work with the National Telecommunications Collaboration Group, and strengthening the authority's total defense efforts. The role is both strategic and operational, and new tasks may arise over time as the sector develops.
About the Team
The unit consists of six qualified employees. The growth potential is significant, and you will lead a unit in development, where working methods, structure, and capacity need to be strengthened moving forward. The team is characterized by collaboration, accountability, and high professionalism.
About You
To succeed in this role, you need to be collaborative and confident in leading qualified employees in critical societal areas. You easily build trusting relationships, both internally and externally, and are motivated by shaping the unit's direction and progress. You are structured and work long-term, while also being able to handle a fast pace and rapid changes in a stable manner. The role requires you to be communicative and feel comfortable representing PTS in various contexts. For us, your personal qualities are important, and we will place great emphasis on these.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A relevant academic degree, such as in technology, economics, or law
- Current work experience as a leader with personnel and budget responsibility
- Documented knowledge of the structure and function of civil defense, acquired through relevant work experience
- Very good knowledge of electronic communication acquired through work experience or education
- Excellent ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish and English
It is also meritorious if you have:
- Experience working in a government agency
- Experience from telecommunications, IT, or similar industries that PTS considers relevant
- Experience leading qualified employees with various competencies
- Experience in a leading role within a sector-responsible authority
Our Offer
With us, you can have a life both at work and outside of it. We offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the opportunity for remote work. You receive a generous wellness allowance and two wellness hours each week – so you can feel good, both at work and in your free time.
In addition, we offer favorable conditions for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and in case of illness. You will work in our modern activity-based premises at Hälsingegatan 38.
